New Born: Fresh Sounds - May 2011

Hi There

It's so hot outside, feels like it's the right time to chill a bit with some fresh sounds from all over the universe. So today's mixtape will include 5 new songs I've heard lately, Hoping it will catch your ear too...

It's a pleasure to start with the swedish Indie singer, Lykke Li, who sounds like the scandinavian version of Elizabeth Fraser, the leading singer of Cocteau Twins. Her songs often sounds like Gibberish so I chose one from her latest, Wounded Rhymes (2011) called Love out of lust which can be understood easily in comparsion to other songs on this album.

Afterwards you can hear Foo Fighters' great song, Rope, taken from Wasting Light (2011), Dave Grohl keeps kicking and it seems like he'd never been that sharp. I'm From Barcelona have got a funny name but the interesting fact is that it consist of 29 members (!!!) on this Swedish Pop act. Come on, Taken from their Forever Today (2011) gives us a clue about their rich-Popy sound.

Getting a bit blue with Doubt by The Boxer Rebellion of their The Cold Still (2011), Acoustic sound with Cello on the background. Keren Ann is closing this mixtape with My name is trouble taken from 101 (2011), her sixth studio album.

Good night
